How Dogs Pack for a Sleepover
Preparation is key to a good sleepover
Hello friends,
Boomer here — experienced sleepover specialist, suitcase sniffer, and champion over-packer.
A lot of hoomans ask what their dog should bring when they come to stay at Pawsies. So I thought I'd explain it from a dog's-eye view. Because trust me… we know EXACTLY what we need for a proper sleepover.
1. The Favourite Bed
You may think we can sleep anywhere. And yes, technically I can nap on a shoe. But my own bed? That's the good stuff. Soft, warm, and smells exactly like home.
(Also, it saves me from trying to steal someone else's bed... again.)
2. The “Essential” Toy Pile
Now, hoomans think we only need one toy.
Wrong.
We need:
- the squeaky one
- the chewy one
- the one we never play with but suddenly need
- and the one that makes the other dogs jealous Please pack responsibly.
3. Our Food and Bowl
Sleepovers are fun, but tummy upsets are not. Bring our usual grub so we can stay happy, bouncy, and avoid any... surprises.
I will not elaborate.
4. The Blanket That Smells Like You
This one matters more than any toy. Having something that smells like our hooman helps us settle in quickly. It’s like a hug we can sleep under.
5. Our Paperwork
Hoomans handle this bit — but it's important. If anything has changed - up-to-date jabs, flea and worm protection, and all that sensible stuff.
I would pack it myself, but I do not have thumbs.
6. A Good Attitude
This is my personal addition.
Come ready to play, make friends, relax, and enjoy the adventure. A sleepover is basically a holiday for dogs.
So there you go — Boomer's official guide to packing like a pro.
If your hooman gets it wrong, just sit dramatically next to the forgotten item until they understand. Works every time.
Wags and nose boops,
